Forest honey is produced by bees from oak, holm oak and cork oak forests. Actually, it is considered honeydew, honeydew or honeydew, since it is not made with the nectar of flowers but from the sugary solutions that bees collect from the leaves of the trees. Kerala forest honey is a supersaturated sugar solution with approximately 17 percent water. Besides carbohydrates, honey contains small amounts of protein, vitamins and minerals. Apart from its high calorific value, honey is known for its medicinal properties too. Honey is produced by honeybees belonging to the Genus Apis. Apis dorsata, the giant honey bee, is very common in the forests of southern and south-eastern Asia. Apis cerana Indica, are small honey bees found in the forests of southern and south eastern Asia. Honey is sweet,viscous liquid food, dark golden colour, produced in the honey sacs of various bees from the nectar is flowers. Flavour and colour are determined by the flowers from which the nectar is gathered.
